How many of us can honestly say that we are happy with our lifestyle today? What we all are working towards in this world is Jannah or Paradise, ultimately. So can we guarantee each other that we have done enough to earn us a place in Paradise? The answer is no, we cannot, because that knowledge lies with Allah (SWT) alone and He knows best. But what we can do to ensure that Paradise is not just a vision, but a reality waiting to welcome each one of us on the other side, is to take advantage of the time that is given to us to come together to help each other endeavor for it, insha’allah. This is what the MSA (Muslim Student Association) of the Cape is all about. It is not just another society for learned people, nor do you have to be a super pious Muslim or Muslimah. Quite the contrary; it is a gathering where young minds & hearts, male and female, can meet to discuss Islam and lend their expertise to benefit this religion. It is a platform for Muslims to meet Muslims, share in our experiences, show our differences, and ultimately bring out our commonality. The MSA of the Cape, a body that caters for the needs of the Muslim students in the Cape, is not a novel one, but rather one that has been present in South Africa for the past three decades. The MSA of the Cape was officially launched in 2002 with the help of a few dedicated students who were able to bring about efficiency and unison amongst the Islamic Societies on the various campuses, schools and communities and co-ordinate activities amongst and between them. On what levels can I get involved?
